Artwork Owners

The Colin McCahon Trust is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

When you provide your personal information to the Trust in connection with your ownership of artworks by Colin McCahon, we will collect, store, and use your details solely for the purposes of maintaining accurate records and supporting the ongoing research and documentation of McCahon’s work.

Your personal information will:

  • Be securely stored by the Colin McCahon Trust.

  • Not be made public or shared with any third parties under any circumstances, unless required by law.

  • Not be published in the new Colin McCahon digital catalogue. In the catalogue, artworks held in private ownership will simply be listed as “Private Collection" without identifying information.

As a courtesy, the Trust may contact you confidentially regarding your artwork if it is proposed for reproduction in research or publications related to Colin McCahon’s life and work.

You have the right to access and request correction of your personal information at any time by contacting the Colin McCahon Trust.
