The Colin McCahon Trust is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Artwork owners

When you provide personal information to the Trust in connection with your ownership of artworks by Colin McCahon, we collect and use this information to maintain accurate records and support the research, documentation, and stewardship of McCahon’s work.

Your personal information will:

  • Be securely stored by the Trust

  • Remain strictly confidential and not be shared with third parties, except where required by law

  • Not be published in the Colin McCahon digital catalogue (artworks will be identified only as “Private Collection”).

From time to time, we may contact you confidentially in relation to your artwork—for example, if it is proposed for reproduction in research, publications, or Trust initiatives.

You have the right to access and request correction of your personal information at any time.

Newsletter subscribers

If you subscribe to the Colin McCahon Trust newsletter, we will collect and use your name and email address to keep you informed about Trust activities, research, publications, and events.

This may include updates on the Colin McCahon Legacy Project, as well as opportunities to support the Trust’s work, including fundraising initiatives.

We use Mailchimp to manage our email communications. Subscriber information is stored securely on servers located outside New Zealand and handled in accordance with Mailchimp’s privacy policy.

You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time using the link provided in our emails.
